Do you know your Personality Strengths?
To make your self-discovery easy, I have summarized a list of Personality Strengths. This information is based on “NOW, Discover your strengths” by Marcus Buckingham and Donald O. Clifton, Ph.D. pages: 83-116.
We will continue the process of defining your strengths. Read the description. Check it if the portrayal fits you. Write “No”, if it is totally unlike you. Highlight a sentence if only that part describes who you are as a person. You can also note traits of other people you know.
Are you an…..
_____Strategic: This trait sorts through the confusion to find the best route. This skill comes naturally to this personality, and few can be taught this particular talent. You notice patterns, play out alternative scenarios, evaluate potential obstacles and make selections that will attain your goal. This gives you a strategy by which you play the game.
_____Enticer: Winning people over is the name of the game for this trait. The PRIMARY challenge is meeting new people and getting them to like you. Strangers are not intimidating to you, and you are often drawn to them. You want to know their names, strike up a conversation and build rapport. Conversation flows freely for you and you derive satisfaction from breaking the ice and making a connection. Once the connection is made you are happy to wrap it up and move on because there are always new people to meet.
This is the end of this particular list of personality descriptions. I hope you were able to identify some of your key traits.
Now that you have defined the essential fundamentals of your personality traits, you can use this new wisdom to help others understand you better. It gives you the words to describe yourself. Having the ability to explain yourself can improve relationships because others will understand you for who you are. This can lead to happiness and self-fulfillment. Fear and Anxiety can cloud your judgement of the future but knowing your true inner self will clear your vision and point you in the right direction. Let this enlightenment become a grounding force in your life. A positive tool for making decisions is knowing what makes you tick. You want your decisions to connect with who you are as a person. When your choices are in sync with your inner self, your life will fit your personality.
